Once again I’ve been reading though a lot of blogs this week when I got time (being a new parent and working full time!) and here is my round up of some of my favourites.

This is an interesting challenge. It’s easy for a new parent or those without kids to talk about how much TV is too much. However, the reality of the situation will dawn on many parents I’m sure as their child grows up that, at times, their children will watch TV. Each parent will have a different understanding of how much is too much TV too. I think the most important thing is to make it through each day, and sometimes that means using the electronic babysitter I’m sure.

Here is one dads take on the question. Have a read and se if you agree…

These are some great milestones to look forward to. I remember seeing many of these with my nieces and nephews and being impressed, so I think I will be equally impressed when N does them. It just seems so far away at the moment.

I’m very much looking forward to number 2. Take a read…do you remember these milestones?

We really enjoy going on holiday with Charlie. He loves going for nice long walks with us, and generally being around us. However, you do come up against a number of issues when you take a dog on holiday, including sleeping arrangements (he can be a noisy dog sometimes so being in our room is a last resort!), finding somewhere to go to eat and just those extra considerations you have to think of when having this member of your family with you. He even once ate the lino/vinyl floor of a hotel we were staying in, or perhaps ate some of it and destroyed a lot more!

Here are some tips from The DADventurer when you’re thinking of going away with your dog.

The Reason I Rarely Feed My Son

We have just started weaning N recently, trying out some veg puree for him to see what he thinks. As he is just starting he really hasn’t got a clue what’s going on. We are all smiles and encouraging noises, whereas he is scrunching up his face in confusion (and maybe disgust at carrots, who knows!). It’s good to see him try though, and it’s an exciting stage we are starting to take him through.

As such, when I saw this post about rarely feeding his son, I was very intrigued as it’s an exciting time. However, once you read it you will really understand the reason why. It’s a conscious choice not to for a very good reason. It’s not just a big step for the child, it is for the parent too. Take a read…

So as I end the roundup this week, I thought I’d add a funny post fo you to read. The images are good (I wish I could draw so well!) and they’re so true, including that when you have a baby it’s the only socially acceptable time to sniff someones butt. Anyway, I won’t give them all away, go have a read!
